Winters are delightful with mild warm days 60° to 70° F (16° to 21° C), and cool nights 40° F / 4° C.
Summers can be extremely hot with daytime temperatures of 100° to 115° F (38° to 46° C) in the shade, and evening lows in the 80's / 27° C.
Long hikes are not recommended in the summer.
Even short hikes require lots of water.
Alway wear a hat and use sunscreen while hiking.
Drink plenty of water.
At least one gallon of water per person, per day is recommended.
